Cherry Blossom (late March ~ early April)
In spring there are many places in Hagi to enjoy the cherry blossom. Approximately 600 trees of Yoshino Cherry bloom around Hagi Castle Ruins at Shizukiyama Park. Cherry trees also bloom at Hagi Reverberatory Furnace World Heritage site. Cherry trees blooming along the Hashimoto River can be enjoyed by seasonal boat service.
Summer Orange Blossom (Early ~ Mid-May)
Summer Oranges are a specialty of our area. The sweet-smelling white flowers bloom in early to mid-May. When the trees dotted around the castle town come into bloom, the soft fragrance fills the streets.
Hagi Yaki Pottery Festival (1~5 May)
Traditional Hagi yaki pottery boasts 400 years of history. More than 50 shops and potteries are open over the course of this five-day pottery market. Feel the warmth of Hagi yaki.
Hagi Tea Ceremony Convention
Experience the “way of tea” through the use of Hagi yaki pottery, the tea ceremony ceramics of choice since long ago. Participate in tea ceremony in the natural setting of Shizuki Park, and other locations.
